Welcome to the Indie Crime Blog. As the name implies, this blog is dedicated to reviews of crime fiction published by independent presses. There are many books published every year that seem to be ignored for a variety of reasons. The books sections of newspapers are getting smaller. Bookstores give more shelf space to more established authors. I could go on, but you get it.My intent is to review books both old and new in the hopes that some deserving writers and worthy publishers will gain some exposure. What I find curious is the fanfare at the top of the cover:

And then we get two names.
If Mandingo was such a hit, why did Kyle Onstott need help from Lance Horner or vice versa?
Perhaps it was to try and figure out what a "rood" was.
I can't believe there was a "novel" called Mandingo! Good grief, Nathan, what kind of filth are you peddling on this site of yours?
Nate, if the man wrote a book called "Mandingo" then I think we all know what he meant by the word "Rood." But wouldn't tattooing it hurt?
