Richard Geis was a major figure in science fiction fandom and criticism. He published several of the most influencial fanzines or semi-prozines in the 1960s and 1970s that published articles by and about such writers as Phillip K. Dick, Ursula LeGuin, etc. He published some non-porn novels but much of his work was porn. It was a widely accepted practice by both science fiction and mystery writers.
