I'm alone in liking this book and movie. Neither book nor film is great art but with the exception of a few John D. MacDonald novels of the time, I can't think of any other book or film that addressed the housing development mania in post war America. (I'm sure there were, I'm just not aware of them.) McPartland btw wrote some excellent Gold Medals.
